Itinerary

Day 1: Skopje
Arrival in Skopje. Meeting with the local english speaking guide. Based on the flights, the visit of the capital will be organized or the 1st day or the last day.
*Guided walking tour of the city. We will explore the Kale Fortress in the old town, the Mustafa Pasha Mosque, and the Church of St. Savior (St. Spas), famous for its impressive iconostasis created by the Filipovski brothers between 1819 and 1824 (visit from outside). We will also discover the old Muslim quarter and wander through the streets of the Old Bazaar, admiring the Stone Bridge, a symbol of the city for its historical value and its role as a link between the two parts of Skopje. We will cross the bridge to reach the modern part of the city, where we will visit the Memorial Center dedicated to Mother Teresa (from outside) and the city's ancient railway station. Hotel accommodation.
Day 2: Skopje – Matka Canyon – Tetovo – Saint John the Baptist - Ohrid
Breakfast. We start with a visit to the magnificent Matka Canyon, located west of Skopje and covering an area of about 5,000 hectares. This destination, one of the most famous in North Macedonia, is also home to numerous medieval monasteries. We will take a boat ride to the impressive Vrelo Cave. Afterwards, we depart for Tetovo, known for the Painted Mosque (17th century), also known as Aladzha Mosque. This masterpiece of Ottoman art was built thanks to the generosity of two Muslims, Hurshida and Mensure, whose tombs are located in the mosque's garden. The building is beautifully decorated both inside and out with floral and geometric motifs. We then continue to one of the most beautiful natural regions of Macedonia to visit the prestigious Monastery of St. John the Baptist. Finally, we will arrive in Ohrid.
Day 3: Ohrid – St. Naum – Prilep
We start the day exploring the old town of Ohrid, considered the most charming city in Macedonia and one of the gems of the Balkan Peninsula, recently declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Ohrid, it is renowned for its elegant white houses, winding streets and its priceless artistic treasures, including 365 churches, one for each day of the year. We will visit the Cathedral of St. Sophia, built between 1037 and 1056, known for its extraordinary frescoes of the 14th century. We will then admire the magnificent landscape from the Church of St. Kaneo, one of the symbols of Ohrid (visit from the outside) and the Church of St. Clement, called Plaosnik (from the outside). We will continue to visit the monastery of Saint Naum, located on a rocky hill south of the lake, from which you can enjoy spectacular views. Arrival in Prilep. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 4 : Preparation for Krali Marko Trails

Day 5: Prilep Krali Marko Trails - Krushevo
Ultra Trail Marathon. Free lunch
In the afternoon, transfer to Krushevo. With its mild continental climate, Krusevo is one of the coolest places in Macedonia, with an average temperature of around 10 degrees Celsius.
Hotel accommodation and dinner.
Day 6 : Krusevo – Bitola – Demir Kapija
After breakfast, we start with the city tour of Krushevo. Visitors can explore the iconic Makedonium monument, which commemorates the struggles of Macedonian revolutionaries, and wander through charming streets lined with traditional stone houses. The town also offers opportunities for hiking, enjoying local cuisine, and experiencing vibrant cultural traditions.

After the lunch the tour continues to Bitola. Bitola, known as the "City of Consuls," boasts a blend of historical and cultural attractions, highlighted by its impressive ancient ruins of Heraclea Lyncestis. Visitors can stroll along the vibrant Širok Sokak, the main pedestrian street, lined with cafes, shops, and beautiful architecture, including the iconic Clock Tower. The town’s rich history is further showcased in its numerous museums and the nearby picturesque Pelister National Park, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. The day will culminate with a visit to one of the most famous wineries in the región where we will have also wine tasting with dinner. Hotel accomodation.
Day 7: Demir Kapija – Kavadarci – Stobi - Skopje
Local Treasures Day: After breakfast, we will set off on a day immersed in the tradition and culture of one of the country's most renowned wine regions. Our first stop will be a historic brandy distillery, where we will have the opportunity to explore the production process of this prized spirit. We will discover the secrets of distillation and the art of creating high-quality brandy, thanks to the expert guide who will accompany us during the visit.
We will then continue to a fascinating wood carving atelier, where we will be able to admire master craftsmen at work. We will observe up close the skill and precision with which they create intricate wooden works of art, an ancient local tradition that continues to be appreciated for its beauty and originality. Lunch with the family. The day will culminate with a visit to one of the most famous wineries in the region.
Visit to the archaeological site of Stobi, one of the largest Roman cities in the region, located along the ancient Axia route. Currently, approximately 15 hectares of the site have been explored, where a path of several hundred meters winds along the causeway, surrounded by the foundations of public buildings, homes, public baths, and some churches. At the end of the route, we will visit the 2nd-century amphitheater and the basilica, which features a baptistery decorated with splendid mosaics connected to the basilica. Arrival in Skopje. Dinner and overnight
Day 8: Skopje - departure
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport
